Last week, President Trump had dinner with Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s former campaign manager, coal enthusiast, and FirstEnergy promoter.
 
Tonight, Trump is expected to dine with Jeff Miller, Energy Secretary Perry’s former campaign manager, coal enthusiast, and FirstEnergy lobbyist.
 
And right smack in the middle of these two happenings is FirstEnergy’s shameless plea for the federal government to bail out uneconomic coal and nuclear plants.
 
As a reminder, manufacturers, natural gas companies, consumers, grid operators, other utilities, and more all say the proposal is illegal and would lead to higher electricity costs.

Are these dinners coincidence, or corporate cronyism at its worst?
