“Banning Red Dye No. 3 in food is a long-awaited action that will reduce health harms from our overexposure to toxic chemicals. This chemical has been banned from cosmetics for decades thanks to Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) and a number of other public health groups and activists. Red Dye No. 3 and these types of cancer-causing chemicals have no place in our food. We urge FDA to better protect consumers by addressing the cancer-causing chemicals still on the market by finalizing our petition to remove carcinogenic solvents from our food supply completely. FDA must consider the consumer and not those who continue to profit from using these harmful chemicals."
