Description

Veronica conducts research on legal and factual issues related to the authority of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the operation of Department of Energy programs, and federal and state siting and permitting laws and regulations, with emphasis on the southwest and southeast. She also creates draft filings, including comments and pleadings for submission to federal agencies and pleadings and affidavits for submission to federal courts. Additionally, she builds coalitions with internal and external partners, as well as other stakeholders with interests related to transmission development and interconnection, and contributes to whitepapers, blogs, and other EDF publications advancing the discussion on transmission and interconnection issues.

Background

Prior to joining EDF, Veronica worked for the Vermont Public Utility Commission as a Solar Innovators Fellow. She focused on the integration of clean and distributed energy technologies into the electric system, reform and evolution of utility ratemaking and regulatory practices, support for energy efficiency and storage programs, and rate proceedings. In 2022, she established and led National Wildlife Federation’s National, Clean Energy/Transmission Initiative as a Staff Attorney and Transmission Policy Specialist.
