Director, Treasury

This is a hybrid role out of EDF's New York office or remote in the U.S.

The Director, Treasury leads all activities within the Global Treasury function, including cash and investment management, foreign exchange exposure management, Global Banking and Administration, and debt compliance management. This role also supports other Finance operations and the CFO for ad hoc projects. The Director, Treasury will report to the Controller of Local Reporting & Business Partnering.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure alignment of Treasury activities with EDF Finance department goals.
  • Have a Global business partner mindset and use that understanding to forge partnerships and build trust and relationships. Be a business and financial partner to stakeholders for matters related to Treasury.
  • Oversee EDF’s global treasury function, including:
    • Oversee banking and payment arrangements around the world (EDF currently operates in Europe, Latin America, and Asia).
    • Manage liquidity across EDF in accordance with Finance Committee guidance.
    • Manage fraud risk and banking compliance regulations over multiple regions.
    • Manage relationships and Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance with banks, investment advisors and investment custodians. Oversee bank system administration as the supervisory user. Manage function, access, and security for online banking and access and online payment processing.
    • Manage access for reporting functions for banking, investments cash flows, revenues, and other functions.
    • Function as liaison to financial institutions for the establishment and management of credit cards.
    • Manage cash funding needs for global locations.
    • Manage EDF foreign currency exposure.
    • Maintain banking and investment policies and procedures. Lead policy update activities for Endowments, Retirement Savings, Board Controlled Reserves, and working capital.
    • Oversee debt covenant reporting.
  • Lead the implementation of additional functionality in EDF’s treasury system.
  • Support the long-term risk reserve strategy.
  • Develop international cash and liquidity management models and create a framework to manage financial risk.
  • Create and analyze the cash flow forecast for EDF; build short-and medium-term plans; monitor and report on the status of forecasts. Proactively collaborate with business units and corporate departments to aid in the construction and execution of the cash forecast and intercompany financing structures.
  • Help identify and implement new services as the business grows and the banking industry evolves.
  • Collaborate with banking partners to maintain and improve EDF’s cash management structure and resolve any day-to-day operational issues.
  • Evaluate the banking organizational structure and recommend ways to streamline and improve the flow of funds and information.
  • Manage receipt of Estate stock gifts and transfer of proceeds to EDF accounts.
  • Administer financial accounts used for capture of EDF membership donations.
  • Assess the products, services, technologies, and systems that impact treasury that are available and appropriate.
  • Find ways to continuously improve processes, procedures and controls surrounding cash movement, bank balance/fee monitoring and other Treasury-related activities.
  • Support Internal and External Audit operations and help develop strategies to maximize efficiencies, manage fraud risk, safeguard assets, and minimize costs across the global organization.
  •  Participate in Finance Leadership and Development Initiatives.
  • Be well-informed of regulatory changes in the U.S. and foreign markets that could impact the EDF treasury function.
  • Coordinate bank signer updates in the US and all countries where EDF does business. Manage the annual foreign bank account reporting (FBAR) process.
  • Participate in advancing DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address environmental and organizational challenges.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of Treasury experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting/Finance, MBA is preferred.
  • CTP credential is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, and other work-related systems: Net Suite (nice to have), Internet banking systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational influencing and communications skills to interact with the Finance team, and across the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with brokers, bank representatives and internal and external counsel on cash, debt and investment rated issues.
  • Ability to manage and mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, and work to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results.
  • Highly analytical, methodical thinker and data driven. A creative problem solver.
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple deliverable timelines concurrently.
  • A results orientation mind-set with a personal commitment and drive to set and meet or exceed the operational and financial goals for this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex business problems, conduct analysis, and identify well-reasoned solutions.
