A big win for monarch butterflies

Monarch butterfly populations at their wintering grounds in Mexico are counted by how many acres they cover. This year, experts say 35% more monarchs arrived, covering seven acres of land.

For the past two seasons, the butterflies have varied the timing of their arrival and departure, which may mean that the pollinators are adapting to a changing climate.
