Thousands of miles of the Louisiana coast have disappeared into the Gulf of Mexico. Wetlands and lush marshes that support wildlife and healthy fisheries, and buffer communities from devastating storms and sea level rise, continue to vanish at an alarming rate. But there’s reason for hope. EDF and our partners are working with Louisiana planners and officials to implement one of the largest coastal restoration and protection programs in history.
Watch the recording below to join us for a virtual field trip to the Mississippi Delta with Simone Maloz, Executive Director of EDF partner Restore or Retreat as a guide. Together, we’ll catch an aerial glimpse of how the region is rapidly changing, and discuss this vital effort to protect the coastal ecosystems that support people, nature and jobs on the Gulf coast.
